Leader Development

Successful military leadership, at all levels, relies on the ability to identify and resolve unforeseen circumstances. This ability is enhanced through ongoing professional development that includes training and exercise, strong supporting military doctrine, and advanced technologies that are innovatively applied. 

In addition to subscribing to doctrine, military leaders must embrace, both on a personal and professional level, life-long learning, instruction, assessment/evaluation, and a willingness to pass on that knowledge through instruction, role-modeling, and coaching.

Supporting Be-Know-Do.

IEM understands the Be-Know-Do construct for developing and educating effective military leadership through organizational change. We have on our staff former military leaders who have lived these principles while serving in key positions, including as Director of the Directorate of Combat Development (CDC) at the U.S. Army Chemical School, Director of the DTRA Chemical and Biological Defense Directorate, creator and Director of the first Joint Program Office for Biological Defense, and Commander and Executive Officer for Chemical Weapons Operations at the U.S. Army Chemical Activity on Johnston Island.
