Craig Walling - Director of DoD & Homeland Defense

Craig Walling

A retired colonel, Craig Walling has 30+ years of front-line experience in chemical and biological defense, systems analysis, and vulnerability assessments. He has 26 years of active Army service, twice assigned Battalion Commander, and retired as Deputy and Acting Director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Chemical Biological Defense Directorate, an organization responsible for directing, managing, and executing an annual $800+ million defense program.

At 417th Base Support Battalion, Kitzingen, Germany, Mr. Walling led and managed a work force of more than 1,200, including military, civilians, and 400+ German Nationals. As designated City Manager, Walling oversaw area housing, facilities, and childcare as well as logistical, deployment, and maintenance functions to a population of over 15,000. As Battalion Commander for the New Orleans Recruiting Battalion, Walling provided strategic direction, training, motivation, and daily management of a multi-state, 100+ person sales force.

Walling’s proven leadership, managerial experience, and strong background in team building have repeatedly positioned him to lead several defense and homeland security projects, including development of a simulation-based acquisition tool for DTRA as part of the Chemical-Biological Warfare Defense Study, DOTMLPF analysis and subject matter expertise to Joint Program Manager Guardian, and oversight to a number of port security projects.

Walling holds lifetime memberships in the Association of the United States Army USA and the Chemical Corps Regimental Association. He is a corporate representative for the National Defense Industrial Association and the Nuclear Biological Chemical Industry Group.

Walling holds both a Bachelor's and an M.B.A. degree.
