RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, January 14, 2011- Global risk management firm IEM announced yesterday that it is donating $25,000 to the Durham Rescue Mission to support critical programs for reducing poverty and homelessness in the Durham area. A check presentation ceremony was held on January 13th at the Good Samaritan Inn in Durham.

In addition to presenting the check, IEM volunteers and their children were on-hand to help the Rescue Mission serve hot meals to those in need.

The Durham Rescue Mission is honored to be the recipient of this generous gift.  CEO/Founder, Dr. Ernie C. Mills, Sr. sa id, “IEM has demonstrated compassion for those who are hungry, homeless, and hurting in the Triangle in a tangible way. We are thankful to have them investing in our communities most valuable asset…our men, women, and children. We look forward to continuing to partner with IEM to provide life-changing opportunities for those who desire to get their lives back on track.”

IEM formally relocated its headquarters to Durham County in August 2010, the same year that it celebrated its 25th anniversary. The donation amount of $25,000 is in recognition of the company’s 25 successful years in business. Said Madhu Beriwal, IEM President and CEO, “IEM is proud to call Durham County our new home and we are committed to supporting the improvement of our community. We are honored to make this donation to the Durham Rescue Mission to support their programs for feeding and sheltering the needy and especially for programs that help single mothers develop marke table job skills and find jobs that allow them to support their families.”
