Research Triangle Park, NC, April 11, 2011 Global consulting firm IEM has planted 25 Yoshino cherry trees in Durham County in celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary and its headquarters relocation to Durham County in 2010. A public dedication ceremony was held on April 11.

Fifteen trees were planted around the Durham County Library, located in the heart of downtown Durham at 300 Roxboro Street. Ten trees were planted along the driveway into the newly renovated Durham County Stadium, located at 750 Stadium Drive. Each spring, the trees at the library and stadium will display beautiful, fragrant white-pink blooms for Durham residents and sightseers to enjoy.

Said Madhu Beriwal, IEM President and CEO, “In planting these trees, IEM is establishing roots in Durham County, which we now proudly call home for our corporate headquarters. These trees symbolize our partnership with the County and State and our long-term commitment to this community.”

On April 11 at 3:00 pm, there was a public dedication ceremony held outdoors at the Roxboro location of the Durham County Public Library. Speakers at the event included North Carolina Secretary of Commerce J. Keith Crisco, Casey Steinbacher and Ted Conner of the Durham Chamber of Commerce, Michael Page, Chairman of the Durham County Board of Commissioners and Madhu Beriwal, IEM President and CEO.
